Services

Three ways we work with a watch, depending on what it needs.

Case back opening tools

Case Back Opening and Inspection

A short diagnostic visit to open the case, look over the movement, and give an honest read on what a watch needs before any larger work. Useful for owners unsure whether a service is due. The findings come as a plain written note, and there is no pressure to go further.

  • Written diagnostic note
  • No obligation to proceed
  • Suited to first-time visits

Hairspring adjustment work

Hairspring and Balance Adjustment

A delicate service to true a bent hairspring and steady the balance, restoring even timekeeping to a mechanical watch. Suited to pieces that run erratically after a knock or long storage. Includes a rate check across several positions.

  • Multi-position rate check
  • Careful, patient handwork
  • Good for watches after a knock

Heritage case restoration work

Heritage Case Restoration

A measured restoration of scratched, dented, or worn cases that keeps original lines wherever possible, discussed carefully so nothing is over-polished. A fitting choice for older watches whose cases carry the marks of decades. The owner sees a plan before any metal is touched.

  • Plan reviewed before work begins
  • Original lines respected
  • Suited to older, well-worn cases

Why people bring their watches here

Honest diagnostics

Every watch is opened and read carefully first, so decisions about further work are made with real information, not guesswork.

Unhurried pace

Fine adjustment work takes time. We set aside proper hours for each movement rather than rushing between benches.

Written findings

You receive a plain note describing what was found and what, if anything, is worth considering next.

Restraint with older cases

We avoid over-polishing heritage pieces, keeping original lines and character wherever it can reasonably be kept.

Curious what your watch might need?

Bring it by, or write ahead. We're happy to take a quiet first look and talk through what we see.

A few common questions

How long does a typical service take?

It depends on the work. An inspection visit is usually same-day, while hairspring adjustment or case restoration can take one to three weeks, since each stage is done without rushing.

Do I need an appointment?

Walking in is fine for a quick look, though writing ahead helps us set aside proper time for your watch, particularly for adjustment or restoration work.

What happens after the inspection?

You'll receive a written note describing what we found. There's no obligation to proceed further, and any next step is entirely your decision.

Will my case be over-polished?

No. We discuss any case work beforehand and aim to preserve original lines, especially on older pieces, rather than polishing away character.

How is pricing handled?

Each service has a listed starting price. If additional work is recommended after inspection, we'll talk it through with you before proceeding.

Is my information kept private?

Yes. Any details you share with us are handled carefully — see our Privacy Policy for the specifics.
